Whether it’s a wedding party, or a formal meeting you need to attend, it’s the perfect suit that makes you look dapper and confident. It’s extremely important that the suit you wear fits perfectly. Suit jackets are either too large, too long and at times, out of fashion. And there’s nothing like an ill-fitted suit to bring your stylishness down. Luckily enough, here are a few tips and tricks to help you through it all with your dapper suits.
If You Are Shorter
If you’re short, stick to a two-button jacket as it’s the most elongating upon your torso. Make sure your jacket ends 4 to 5 inches below your hip and ask for no break in the trousers so you look taller. Along with the shape and size, the colour matter too. Wear a medium to dark suit instead of a sport coat and trousers. The single colour from head to toe will help elongate your body.
If You Are Stocky
If you have a stocky torso, skip big, bold patterns like windowpane and go with vertical pinstripes instead. They’ll draw the eye up and down instead of side to side. Two-button suits highlight your shoulders and lengthen your torso and make you look slimmer in an instant. The trouser waist should always be comfortably loose, never belted tightly in order to ensure that it doesn’t pinch or wrinkle.
If You Are Tall
If your body type is tall, a three-button jacket is what you should go for. Unlike a two-button suit, three buttons look appropriate for your height. It will elongate your frame even more. But avoid cropped jacket and pants as it will look really odd with your suit. Try horizontal stripes on your suit, to add width to your frame.
