From being a teen style icon to debuting in a Bollywood movie this year, Janhvi Kapoor is amongst the youngest celebs to leave us all star struck! The young lady may only be making her debut this month, but her fashion debut began long ago. And with her movie release date drawing closer, we’ve embarked on a trend-spotting spree.
Not just western outfits, the debutante has clearly made a series of appearances in exquisite ethnic wear, a sure-shot resemblance to her late mother’s elegant fashion sense.
Here’s a peek into the young diva’s statement appearances this year!
The Fusion Anarkali – the promotional event of her movie in Jaipur, Janhvi showed us that fusion looks can look just as elegant as they are bold. Her white Anarkali’s claim to fame was the vibrant floral detailing that makes us want to pair the pristine colour with our favourite florals! The Sukriti and Akriti ensemble was cleverly teamed with statement copper-gold tiered earrings and elaborate eye makeup.
Indian Fairy Tale – Dressed in this Manish Malhotra creation at the Sonam-Anand Ahuja reception, Jahnvi Kapoor rekindled our belief that fairytale princesses may just exist. This outfit goes on to prove that glitter and powder blue make a wonderful combination. Who knows, the young celeb’s appearance may just give rise to a trend of its own? The ethnic translation for a dress train was manifested in her ruffled tulle trim dupatta. Jahnvi stuck to minimal accessorising with statement diamond earrings; we’re truly impressed by how balanced this look is!
Like Mother Like Daughter – Manish Malhotra’s collection has a special place in Janhvi’s heart, which is why she chose this custom-made silk saree for the 65th National Film Awards. And, we bet it wasn’t just us drawing similarities between the young star and her late mother, veteran actress Sridevi. While her elegant choice of attire sure made heads turn, we also can’t help but notice her fresh-faced look, achieved with a minimal dab of lipstick and eyeliner. She kept the accessories to a minimum by opting for traditional jhumkas and kadas.
Dainty Duo – Lavender and Ruffles – The 21-year old stayed true to the color of the year, ultraviolet, by opting for a ruffled creation by designer, Prabal Gurung. She graced the Harper’s Bazaar cover launch in this dress with a thigh-high slit. Here’s one major take away from her look – Matching your dress with your shoes is still a trend going strong!
Floral Fixation – In the spirit of her movie, Dhadak, Janhvi was seen in a number of ethnic ensembles. However, she chose to drift away from the traditional and step out in this summery outfit by Prabal Gurung for the promotions. The floral dress was a soothing white and pink blend with hints of yellow, which made for the perfect daytime look. Elaborate ruffles that ran across the outfit prove that she’s not the only one that fancies ruffles. A nude makeup look and white pumps took the style quotient up a notch.
Streetstyle Goals – Even the greatest fashionistas resort to classics when it comes to street style. Here, Jahnvi was spotted at PVR Cinemas, Juhu wearing a white crop top, which she chose to pair with distressed denims and black boots. The plunging V-neckline and midriff-baring crop top made for an ideal summer look to beat the heat. Her hair was tucked behind in a messy ponytail, while her makeup-free, glowing face did the talking!
