The Desi Makeover
We’re constantly hunting for a reason to bring our desi side out with women’s clothes so when there’s an upcoming wedding on our calendars or even just a smaller festive occasion, we’re bringing out the ethnic bling. A simple fashion tip for ladies is that a kurta and palazzo set is always super easy to throw on but the look really pops if it’s one with a jacket, and we love the subtle, earthy gold tones in this one. We’re choosing mauve and gold as our accentuating colours with mauve clear heels, ( a mauve and gold party clutch and a kundan gold necklace set with intricate details. Pop on a bindi and a nude lip, and you’re all set!
That Kurta Guy
When you’re wearing a bright yellow kurta among all the black suits and white shirts, there’s no way you won’t stand out. Exactly why we love this men’s fashion trend that’s so traditional, yet relaxed at the same time. If it’s a slightly more formal event, you can throw on a nehru jacket over the kurta. We love this style of trending shoes for men, that is a pair of brown leather sandals that perfectly complement both a white churidar and a pair of chinos. For accessories, wear a leather analogue watch for a bit of an old school feel to this handcrafted look.
Statement Add Ons
Know what makes for a great look? Not the clothes, not the hair, but the accessories which tie it in together. Take a simple, sorted western outfit for ladies like a denim jumpsuit and elevate it with a metallic box satchel that has a ton of personality to it and yet, is extremely functional. Rose gold is still a colour we’re loving this season, especially when it has a bit of bling like in this pink analogue watch and lastly, add in this beaded necklace and earrings set that will practically match every other Indian or western outfit for ladies.
Half Indie Full Chic
Our love affair for fusion wear started back in college but it has only gotten stronger since then as we continue to focus on made in India brands. It definitely comes back to life when we see a gorgeous piece like this cream and gold embroidered kurti. You can wear it with a maxi skirt but we’re taking the casual yet chic route with these olive palazzos . If you’re wearing this look to an evening event, go for long peach earrings with tassels , a gold clutch and simple gold heels Add some sleek drama with a pulled back hair-do.
House Gets a New Look
To be more specific, the bedroom, our favourite room in our house. A new set of bedsheets (can change the look of your bedroom like nothing else and we love the minimal style of this striped set and complement it with a printed dohar. These sage coloured curtains add a bit of color to the room while still being muted and calm and you can bring out the natural, Indian colour scheme with some artificial flowers and woven floor rugs in different sizes. With a couple of additions, you’ll have a room you’ll never want to leave!
