Love is in the air! This Valentine’s Day indulge in decadent desserts with your sweetheart. Neha Manekia – Director of Silver Spoon Gourmet is here to help transform your love scene with two of her chosen recipes. These easy to make desserts are the stuff of your dreams! Enjoy a chocolate filled Valentine’s Day!
Ingredients: 12 strawberries – fresh, cleaned, with stem on.
300 gm dark chocolate – preferably cooking chocolate.
50 gm white chocolate – cooking chocolate.
Items to keep ready : Double Boiler.
Extra Bowl/Pan for Double Boiler.
Baking sheet with butter paper.
Step 1 : Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler and set aside.
Step 2 : Take the white chocolate in the extra pan/bowl, melt it and set that aside too. When the white chocolate has cooled down slightly, fill it into a piping bag.
Step 3 : Dip the strawberries one at a time into the dark chocolate letting the chocolate drip.
Step 4 : Place them on the baking tray lined with butter paper. Chill in the fridge for 1-2 minutes.
Step 5 : Cut a tiny hole in the piping bag and let the white chocolate drizzle over the strawberries.
Step 6 : Chill for ten minutes. Serve Cold.
Ingredients: 115 gm butter, softened (not heated) at room temperature.
200 gm chopped dark chocolate
150 gm sugar
35 gm unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 large eggs at room temperature
100 gm flour (maida) sieved
50 gm chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)
Step 1 : Preheat oven on gasmark 4 or 180 degrees.
Step 2 : Grease a 9×9” tray. Line with butter paper if possible
Step 3 : In a saucepan on low heat mix the butter and chocolate. Keep stirring till melted.
Step 4 : Add the sugar and cocoa powder. Stir well and set aside.
Step 5 : In a separate bowl, beat eggs and vanilla till fluffy.
Step 6 : Mix the chocolate mixture into the bowl. Fold in the flour and the nuts (if needed).
Step 7 : Spread the mix in a greased/lined baking tray and bake for 20 mins.
Step 8 : Let it cool completely. Cut into heart shapes using a cutter.
