How to Wear Your Scarf as A Face Mask

Steps:

  • Open the scarf completely open, match one corner to the other corner diagonally opposite it. Fold the square in half into a triangle.
  • Drape the folded scarf over your overhead between your hairline and eyebrows.
  • Both the ends of the scarf should be equal on both the sides.
  • Wrap the right side below your chin and pull it over your left side shoulder over the head covering your entire chin behind your head.
  • Hold the end with your left hand preventing it from loosening.
  • Take the folded edge of the left side with your right hand and pull it across your face towards your right side. It should cover your nose and mouth entirely. Take the end over your right shoulder towards the back of your head.
  • Tie both the ends behind your head in a knot at the center of your head tight enough to hold the mask and comfortable to breathe.

Tip: Use a cotton scarf, which does not slip when tied as a scarf.

Loose Neck Scarf Style

This style is not the traditional one but it can be a casual and trendy way to wear a scarf which can be worn indoors as well. Read on the steps given below.

Steps:

  • Open the scarf completely open, match one corner to the other corner diagonally opposite it. Fold the square in half into a triangle.
  • Place the folded edge over your nose and mouth. Both the corners should appear on either side of your face. The other corner should be draped in front of your face covering your neck and chest.
  • Tie a single knot at the back of your head with both the corners.
  • Bring the right and left ends of the scarf back over your shoulders so they drape loosely over your chest.
  • The loose neck style scarf ready is good to go.

Rectangular Face Wrap Style

This style is less time consuming and can be worn by men as well. You must remember that the scarf should be at least 18 inches by 18 inches.

Steps:

  • Fold the scarf from the top edge to the bottom edge in a rectangle.
  • Do the same process again to make an elongated strip.
  • Hold both the ends and wrap it over your nose and mouth.
  • Tie the ends at the back of your head in a knot.
